Earthen plaster regulates humidity, thus providing an excellent indoor environment. It is breathable and makes a perfect companion to straw bale walls.
Lime plaster is more resilient to high humidity rooms, such as kitchens and bathrooms, while is still breathable.
Tadelakt is a technique traditionally used in Morocco. It is a fine lime plaster, treated with olive oil soap and polished with a semi-precious stone. Tadelakt has very high water resistance, making it a perfect choice for wet rooms.

During this four day workshop, we will learn how to gather, test and use natural materials such as clay, lime, straw and sand, in our building. While the main focus will be on internal plaster techniques, in the evenings we will explore topics such as straw bale insulation construction, timber frame, green roofs, bioclimatic design, waste water management and cement free foundations.

Our group is small, so everyone gets one to one tuition. There will be morning and evening yoga practice open to everyone who wants to slow down, tune into the breath, rejuvenate, followed by delicious vegetarian meals.

We provide high quality materials, tools and information. After this workshop you’ll be ready to tackle your own plastering project!

What to bring? Work clothes, old work shoes, warm clothes, swim gear, mosquito repellant
