Roof renovation & insulation with hempcrete/hemplime. Masuria, Poland

We took the challenge to renovate the roof of a summer cabin in the woods. The roof was in the possession of martens, where they built a system of corridors among mineral wool.
The target was clear, simple solutions with minimum use of industrialized products, no boards, no membranes. Good reconstruction of air-vents to prevent wildlife entry.

We chose hemplime insulation for its properties. Diffusivity to provide a moisture escape path. Capacity to absorb and release moisture from the condensation under metal roof. While high alkaline environment will prevent any mold.
